Pros

Great team of talented, motivated people, work is challenging and interesting, great networking opportunities with career-growing potential

Cons

Cannot hold on to valuable team members, extremely high turnover. Performance review and feedback is done chaotically and unprofessionally. Raises are very inconsistent and don't follow a logical pattern aka yearly, quarterly etc. Team building, team motivating, and company culture are the lowest possible priorities for management. Management is a big fan of micromanaging, has trust issues and is consistently suspicious of employees. Management criticises employees that are not in the room to all other employees who are and propagates a hostile, fear-driven work environment. Management asks employees to complete tasks without giving direction, then proceeds to insult their work for not meeting unclear expectations. Management considers that approach to be an effective learning tool and would rather let employees figure things out and waste more time in the process, rather than training them effectively and efficiently. Management filters everything through their own experience, intuition and ability and expects everyone to work the same way as them, match their level of performance, and the number of hours committed to the job, despite drastically lower pay for team members. Management doesn't understand the value of time off, a healthy work-life balance and getting off work on time.

Pros

- Autonomy, encouragement to become a specialist in a given area and a wide berth to pick your preferred tool or technique so long as you can collaborate - Great team, culture is vibrant, fun, and you never feel like you're without support - Unique work, if you want exposure to all 360 degrees of technical marketing, events, evangelism etc. this is a much friendlier place to do it than at a traditional/big firm - Impressive skill and experience building, exposure to new tech, high-prestige client, C-level leadership which is priceless experience - Compassionate management, felt more like managers were invested in me to develop my talent and contributions rather than invested in my projects to conform my work to their expectations (i.e. micromanaging or by-the-book instructions)

Cons

- Fast paced, if you're looking for an easy and super-predictable job there is less for you here as it rewards risk-takers and people willing to try new things. Clients can be great to work with and keep giving projects, or there may be a lot of different ones to acclimate to. - Small company, this may be a pro for some and con for others, but if you are looking for a corporate experience this will feel non-traditional

Cons

no career path forward. It seemed European management has little idea of what's going on in US. Repurpose me to do work way outside of my job description
