Pros
I’ve had a long tenured IT career, worked both in large and small companies and I’ve worked domestically and internationally. Bay Computing Group (BCG) is by far the smallest company I’ve joined and yet immediately after starting, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered some value added perks that larger companies tend to ignore. Within the first week of employment, I was provided free VIP monthly parking below our office building, a new PC/Tablet, an iPhone, a very sweet desk environment including four large monitors and in-house technical training. During that same week, there was also a company team building event including dinner, a team lunch and a recognition ceremony for a long term employee. What an impressive first week! Within a few months, BCG extended additional benefits to all full time employees and they even offered a few VIP perks to part time employees. That was over a year ago and I am still here. This is a good company and the owner/CEO is a great person to work with. He has an in depth knowledge of the IT industry, stays on the cutting edge and he knows the details of what’s going on within his company and with the clients. Not only does he sincerely listen to employee suggestions and concerns, but he makes prompt decisions and executes them. The same goes for client feedback and there are continuous efforts made to improve client services. BCG is a professional organization, provides excellent IT services, staffed with educated and courteous resources and one of the best places to work in the East Bay.
Cons
The temperature in the office isn’t regulated very well. This is a building maintenance issue, but it’s cold in the summer time and even colder in the winter. There’s only one deli in the building, so if you want to go out for a decent lunch, there’s not many options for the one hour lunch break.
