Pros
Conducting actual hearing tests is immensly satisfying and most customers that engaged in hearing test really appreciate time given counselling them about their hearing. Sales colleagues are great and ready to help each other.
Cons
Touting for business in public locations, the predominant part of the job, requires a thick skin and a lot of bravado. Management's main interest is minimising costs and auditing the number of hearing tests conducted - but it is totally the responsibility of the rep to find venues with high volume of potential customers. Initial training is brief and there is no follow up training or support thereafter from line manager. Salary is in line with retail sales but MTS do not get penalty rates for overtime or public holidays. Car costs are reps resonsibility even though it is a tool of trade.
