Pros

People who work at this company are smart and great to work with. Good quarterly bonuses. Occasional lunch from company after a big job is completed.

Cons

Didn't treat employees well. The people that work here are more numbers driven than treated like a human. They are worked a crazy amount of overtime. And if you are a women no need to work here, the owner is a women and she HATES other women.

Bates Group Response

We have read the post and we agree with some points and disagree with others. Please read on. As noted, Bates is honored to be a company made up of smart and driven people. We are proud of our two-pronged business focus…our clients and our team. While we may work a lot of hours to meet our clients’ needs, we do so because we are vested in their success. In turn, we provide quarterly and spot bonuses to recognize our employees contributions. We offer a great environment with exciting work, casual attire, flexible and remote work arrangements, plenty of food and snacks, and a high level of camaraderie. Our values of Quality, Client Success, Strong Culture, and Commitment to Team speak to our priorities and we are proud to display and celebrate them. Reviewing and discussing numbers are a part of building a successful business as it drives accountability and transparency. Our team wants to know how the company is performing, how they are performing, and the key indicators for their individual and our collective success. We are proud to say that our average tenure is over 8 years, excluding those hired in the last year. We are also proud that almost 40% of all employees, and over 40% of our management team, are women, including the Heads of Marketing, HR, Litigation, and IT. We invite you to speak with us to learn more about Bates. Jennifer Stout CEO/President

Pros

Good location next to fancy restaurants.

Cons

Bates Group presents itself as a firm with a deep bench of experts across various fields, but the reality is quite different. Many of the professionals listed on their website don’t actually do active work for the company, and their expertise is more for show than substance. Additionally, they have a pattern of hiring contractors to provide specialized knowledge, only to phase them out once the internal team has been trained on their insights. Instead of fostering long-term collaboration, they treat contractors as temporary knowledge sources and let them go as soon as they've extracted what they need. This creates an unstable and frustrating work environment for contractors who expect fair treatment. If you're considering a contract role here, be prepared for a short stint with little long-term security.
