Pros
The only pro are the people you survive with on shift
Cons
Overworked and underpaid, the headoffice continually puts team members against their managers in order to escape accountability for deducting hours of staff and managers alike. Talks and workshops about mental health, however no real plan for those suffering with it. We’ve been told to “go for a walk” but if someone were to suggest that it'd be put down immediately. Also made to feel guilty for needing time or a break due to mental health issues and often told to just get over it by headoffice and managers alike. The head office team use intimidation in order to get away with the amount of people that have been underpaid. Underpayment is regular in this company and it is a mission to get the money back that they owe you. A bad business model, they have brought a new pub recently but actually can’t afford it as they have to cut hours and labour in order to afford it. Inappropriate work relationships that are able to manipulate staff and undermine Barons policy Extortionate food and drink prices that do not justify the lack of quality of the food we produce. With a menu that worsens month by month and limited drink options. Chefs are allowed to verbally abuse pretty much any member of staff and it’s expected that it should just be accepted. Day to day running of the pubs is mainly up to the minimum wage staff as the salaried managers and head office often get away with taking multiple breaks, eating whatever off the menu (when options are restricted for general staff) or sitting in the office pretending to do work, when it’s been exposed many times that they are just having a catch up.
