Pros
• The children I work with • Work/Life balance
Cons
• Management constantly off sick so limited contact days or support. • Management also incompetent when in work - giving false information and always having to "check" when asked questions related to jobs. • Certain staff members being in a clique, and bullying new staff and/or fabricating stuff to push new members out. • Not being kept in the loop with shifts/plans etc, and then when you question it, you get told you shouldn't need to be told, but also if you turn up to work when not needed that is also a problem. • Offering ideas to better things for the children and always getting shut down due to budget or other staff not being interested in your say. • Having a certain staff member constantly shouting across the room at the children and complaining that none of them listen to her, then getting annoyed whenever they listen to you the first time you ask because you have a calm and polite approach. • On many occasions staff are negative and unprofessional about each other or children behind their backs but wouldn't express their issues to the person. Overall, just not the nicest environment to work in, very toxic with high school mean girl vibes. They often forget that it is about supporting and bettering the lives of the children and not about their own dramas and malicious motives. And being loud and aggressive isn't the best approach to engaging with youths and getting them to open up with you so you can support them.
