Pros

-The advantages of working at BPA Quality are that you gain a basic insight as to how a small business operates. -Diverse group of employees, excellent office culture (except fo senior officials and HR Team).

Cons

-The office is located in a small town called Honiton, and most of the employees have to travel to work by train. The company, despite having been asked repeatedly by the employees to move to a more accessible location, still refuses to cover transportation costs. -For a company that places a premium on their use of technology, their computers and equipment are awful. Computers and programs needed for scoring calls frequently break down or freeze, and the computers themselves are old and inefficient. It is not unusual to have to send some employees home, or move around their shifts, because their computer or program is not working that day. Despite numerous employees requesting that we upgrade our equipment, or change to a more efficient scoring program, BPQ Quality has done nothing about the issue. -The HR team has a tendency to patronise employees as though they are little children: for example, there is no cutlery available for employees to use when it is lunch time, as the sink was deemed as 'messy'. However, all of the cutlery has actually been hidden upstairs where the HR team and senior officials are. They frequently use the confiscated cutlery, while the rest of the employees on the floor downstairs are expected to lug bowls, forks, and spoons from home. -This following happened to a colleague of mine who worked at BPA Quality for a year. Early on during the interview process, my colleague made it clear that they were unable to work at certain periods during the year, and BPA Quality promised that no work would be given during these periods. However, once that employee was officially hired, BPA Quality aggressively contacted them numerous times over phone and email, demanding that the employee was to continue working remotely, even though the initial arrangement had been promised. When my colleague had returned to work, they continued to harass them in meetings, questioning their commitment to the company even when my colleague had actually worked overtime. My colleague has since resigned from BPA Quality. -Though the office culture as a whole is friendly, the HR team can be very difficult to handle. Several of my other colleagues have endured passive aggressive questions by certain individuals of the HR team about exactly how long they have been taking their lunch break, and some have even been told that they are not allowed to stop working unless they work for over six hours, meaning that one is expected to sit at the desk listening and scoring calls for six hours straight. I have been approached myself about this, and have felt very uncomfortable. -There are not enough desks, chairs, or computers for all the employees on the downstairs floor, and the kitchen is basically made up of one faulty sink and an old microwave. -The bathrooms are freezing. -Staring at a screen all day can really tire your eyes out, especially when you're not allowed to take a break. -The pay does reflect the immense amount of intellectual effort and manual effort that goes into being a call analyst and researcher. -If BPA's clients knew what the office atmosphere was really like, they would be shocked at the shoddy equipment and the way that BPA treats their employees.
