Pros
I am fortunate enough to work for talented managers in my area, however the vast majority of departments are lacking proper personnel to efficiently operate. Work life balance is good as well as the workload is pretty manageable. Lots of opportunities for horizontal movement within the company as this often occurs because employees are ultimately bored with their positions.
Cons
The most prominent problem I see within the company is compensation. Simple business logic..if you do not attract and retain the most talented employees your company will eventually be limited by your less talented workforce. BNY has to realize that these employees will seek out better opportunities, often at industry competitors. Many departments have numerous overlapping responsibilities and I find myself questioning interbank group operations only to get the answer "upper management wants it that way"
