Pros

- Low-level employees can be among the best and smartest people you might meet and can become good friends. - Close to transit.

Cons

- Shockingly low pay, coupled with long hours and high expectations (it was expected that you read your work email before you clock in). - Narcissistic management across the board. - A CEO who routinely publicly berates employees, seemingly for the pleasure of it. - Abysmal office conditions - filthy with old, dilapidated furniture and computing equipment. - Common to find that development software is either cracked or using educational licenses. - No company culture to speak of, outside of what you can create with your own colleagues. - Zero career path within the company.

Pros

Projects are interesting(iPhone, Android, webservices, web design projects, etc). However they are SEVERELY mismanaged. A place to get your foot in the door and add experience to your resume.

Cons

Dirty office - There was/is a mice problem. It became common to wipe off mouse droppings on your desk every morning. No HR department - Senior management is "HR". They have incredibly unrealistic expectations of employees. Make sure you look at every pay cheque you receive. If they see a slight chance to cut someone's pay (legally or not) they will try to take advantage. You will be told there are no egos. This is false. The managers have the biggest egos and are not afraid to yell/curse at you in the office. Will sometimes berate employees when they are not present. They may try to sell you on the fact that you will get paid overtime for projects. This MAY be true for the first few days/weeks of a project, at which point they will tell you they have "blown the budget". Mismanaged projects - Some managers are not easily accessible. You may be looked down upon if you can't come up with the answer, or ask for help. Very unrealistic expectations placed on junior staff. Code reviews - None. It is definitely a "make it work" attitude. Not many real opportunities to significantly move in the company. To be expected as it is a small company. Low to average pay at best.

Pros

Pretty easy to get to via subway. Good food nearby

Cons

Low salary, old and dirty office and no code reviews. Senior developers were absent most of the time which made progressing on tasks frustrating.
