-Heavy micromanagement literally everything is tracked cameras galore, constant metrics monitored on a weekly basis based on coding days, tickets etc, bi weekly demos to business, heavy monitoring on devices time in time out, your work laptop literally freezes cause its doing a upload of your screen recording, i7s become celerons with the level of monitoring tools, Yet all these tools are used to track your negatives never positives
- everyone is thin, out stretched, burnt out, you end up having to do multiple tickets and work due to no capacity and having to be on support due to little capacity yet there is a whole support team in durban whomst just call forward constantly it seems getting a call at 2am for something that could've been done without you is the norm and having to report to the office the next morning is the norm here "you can be placed on support for the whole weekend not get a call but when u are called your are expected to have your laptop open within seconds you dont get standby pay, only when u called for support" .
- stealing ideas and recycling brds /POCS of past employees is the norm here.
- issues raised by employees are laughed at and not addressed by management. They dont care, issues have been being raised from days when people joined you'll even leave with those issues not solved and the cycle repeats like its a new issue when its not but the guys who been here the longest just laugh and smile cause they know business doesnt care as long as money is coming in and these HR session are a formality, HR is such a waste of time they cant do anything of value nor protect employees or business what is their purpose besides ticking boxes and hiding in their section until your exit interview.
+Extreme fatigue and burnout its constant go go go go mentality never stop reflect freeze, what did we learn. Its code till ur fingers burn and u fall sick then repeat repeat repeat till there is only 3 people in ur team and end of the week u have to make sure ur admin is in order your points and your small cheque and no benefits come in at the end of the month.
+Horrendous environment. Devs are replaceable, expendable, individuals with core system knowledge built the system understand it are not valued and you dont realize that as much as you deem them expendable to fix one issue took you a week/months and lots of money lost when the individuals who built that would've taken them a few hours. Most your core system issues daily stem from lack of employee retention and accountability which leads to constant inconsistencies and financial loss.
+the decisions business has taken are unraveling and you are losing a large amount of talent from knee jerk decisions and lack of transparency.
