Pros

There are none, other than getting a paycheck and free cup of coffee in the morning

Cons

Lousy inexperienced project managers who play favorites with certain employees and management really doesn't care about employees, as another person said they are a small fish in a big pond and they don't get quality contracts. Most people who work here are either from another country and trying to get a green card or they would have trouble finding a real job. CIO is a jerk and knows nothing about technology or how to manage people, only cares about furthering his own career on the backs of migrant workers.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. A competitive paycheck, great people and especially good coffee are key to BEM’s culture. BEM takes all three serious especially our coffee; just ask our CFO who lets out a torturous moan when he gets the coffee invoice each month. A sign we might have a problem. On a more serious and factual note which this write up deserves, The BEM Team is a balanced one. We pride ourselves on hiring talented people based upon their experience and initiative and find that diversity makes us better and adds to our corporate resume and skill set. Our Program Managers, all who have been with BEM over 10 years, work hard to promote inclusion and opportunity across the board and as HR I am always available to those who might feel they are not part of the Team in any way. Being a small fish in a big pond might seem daunting at times but the BEM Team accepts the challenge at each opportunity. We take great pride when we win contracts and stand tall next to the competition. The Team at BEM has been part of winning proposals across all sectors with an impressive client list which can be seen on our website at www.bemsys.com.

Pros

I enjoy working at BEM Systems. I think the people are friendly and the job is challenging. There are opportunities to learn and grow that upper management encourages. Great salary, performance bonuses and good benefits as well. CEO is very personable and humble.

Cons

No cons for me working here.

Pros

Friendly people, nice and quiet location

Cons

This is a very small company with a niche market to work on. I worked in the IT dept. Underpaid, Overworked, one person has to don multiple hats. You work more than 40 hours a week, clients are not in any way tech savvy. You have to input timesheet every Friday for all the work you did, so you would have to maintain some excelsheet to keep track. Fellow team mates dont co-operate or help you out if you get stuck, so there is no team work. You have to fix and develop huge application modules in very short period of time. They use very old outdated .NET framework when i was there and use the same code base for different clients. May have changed now. Who knows. If you are new and joined recently, they act very friendly, but expect you to learn the stuff and huge applications and fix stuff in a very short period. Upper management is ruthlessly brutal and will expect very high quality work from you in very less time with very less resources. They even work on public holidays and Christmas. I worked on almost every weekend. No work life balance and work from home is not allowed.
