Pros

No micro management Handled Covid 19 extremely well Great people Make your role your own, get involved with some really exciting stuff! Free coffee and subsidised canteen (pre Covid) Really nice new office layout Work phones for all grades/levels Agile working policy Team social/away days

Cons

Salary - for this role, it is below market average and does not increase over the years (lucky if you get £500 a year) Progression - nowhere for PA’s to go in the same bubble/department. They just see you as a good PA, and do not explore career progression or development, no matter how much you am involved with out of your usual duties Workday is awful!!! Over complicated and designed by people who don’t seem to know what the fee earners want. Left the business support team to battle on the front line Lack of diversity is really alarming. Very small number of female partners and no one black above senior manager grade (4 grades without) including partner level, which makes it difficult for them to do the right thing

Pros

Consultants were not overworked, and people are generally staying in their own lane. Strong knowlegeable teammates and lots of internal resources to grow. Work life balance was good.

Cons

I left during a time of transition, since the top practice director retired and the EBA leader took over as interim leader. This interim guy seemed to be waiting for something to take any action with current resources, and he was not too interested in rallying or figuring things out as a team. If he had expectations, they were never communicated to me. The lack of clarity was very challenging for me personally, and it came off as a lack of support. I think others in the team probably feel similarly.
