Pros

None - dont think there are any pros Nothing from the firm in general - some clients are v nice tho

Cons

Partners only care about themselves and their profit sharing, claimed that there are diversity and inclusion however there is only 1 woman on the Executive team (all white) - rarely see a woman partner on the firm. No black partners - only a handful of non-white senior people around. Does not appreciate effort of junior staff - pretend to appreciate and care about staff's mental well being but once I let the partners know that I am sufferring mentally from lockdown and the workload there were no actions taken, not even a message to see if you are ok. On a visa and worked at the company for 5 years still got chased back 3K of visa cost when departing Worst company in general - claim to be investing in people but from the toxic culture it isnt, most staff are underpaid

Pros

Compensation is OK. There are some really nice people in the organization to work with, but you have to find them.

Cons

If you are not part of the SWC "club" (company name prior to them joining BDO), good luck. Poor leadership!!! Practice lead talks to everyone like they are talking to a CEO, not relatable in most cases. No clear employee development plans. You are held accountable for things completely outside of your individual control. They stress incorporating AI into work strategy, but have no plan on what that looks like or how to do it and want everyone to formulate it because leadership has no roadmap. One has no control over where you want to take your career, yet you are expected to know everything, about everything. As a result, you become an expert of nothing! Work assigned rarely leverages skills, almost as if they throw darts to see who works on what.
