Pros
Great admin at my campus. Good way to get into teaching without/in progress certification. Students are generally well behaved. Teachers must meet state standard but get to choose their own curriculum. Minimal required communication with parents. Opportunity to receive stipends for clubs. Decent health benefits.
Cons
Low salary pay ($7-10K less than a public ISD) despite high expectations to provide a rigorous learning environment. Large class sizes (approx. 35 kids per class), crowded halls. Typical charter school issues (making a profit of $7.7 million, delegitimizing public schools, too many standardized tests).
