Pros

The team at Azra Games is filled with talented, creative, and passionate individuals who genuinely want to do great work. The people are fantastic and work hard to bring unique ideas to life.

Cons

Unfortunately, the potential of the team is held back by poor leadership, primarily the CEO. The CEO’s approach is more authoritarian than collaborative, often making decisions based solely on personal taste, with little to no input from others. This creates a hostile and stressful work environment, as employees are frequently berated for decisions that they had no control over. The language and attitudes from leadership can be highly aggressive and dismissive, particularly toward anyone who doesn’t align with their views, leading to a sense of insecurity and fear of job loss. The work culture is also marred by constant pivots and unrealistic expectations. Projects often see significant changes on a whim, despite initial approvals, resulting in frustration and wasted effort. Leadership’s views can feel outdated and sometimes even misogynistic, leaving many employees feeling stifled rather than empowered. If you value autonomy, respect, and mental well-being, it may be wise to consider other opportunities.

Pros

- Some of the most challenging and stimulating work of my career - Refreshing to work in an environment where we don't settle for good enough - Leadership has an ability to raise capital in a way I've never seen before - The first time in my career I'm building a game that I want to play every day

Cons

- Typical chaotic startup environment - If you need certainty and predictability, it's not a good fit for you - Hybrid environment where about half the company is remote -- sometimes if you work in Sacramento with the same people it can be easy to collaborate but when you work on new strike teams frequently it can be hard to get everyone in the same call and make decisions as quickly as we need to

Lunch paid for. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

All hype no follow through. No rewards for long hours. Lots of turn around and no help with advancement.
