Pros

Not much, they have a nice coffee machine I guess.

Cons

The job description is a straight up lie. It said I would need C# experience and work with the .NET Framework and maybe a little bit of JavaScript. That sounds great right? It's all a lie. I never even get to touch any code while working here. The work was extremely mundane and repetitive. You really don't need a CS degree to do it, you actually don't need any college degree really. They use "Citizen Developer" tools to create bots, basically you'll be clicking and dragging circles and lines around to "make" a bot. I even asked, multiple times during the interview process, about how much coding and programming I would do here and the interviewer said "about 50% of your time will be spent developing". Again, that was a lie. I was very explicit about what I wanted and he misled me into thinking I could get that here. Also, it's not remote and I really don't understand why. All of the work I did could have been done from home. I go to the office just to talk to all my coworkers online anyways. All we did was have meetings over Teams. Why can't that be done from home? It would've made the work more barrable if I could've stayed home to do it rather than drive 30 mins every day to UTC. No one cared about wearing masks either. The company put the least amount of effort possible in order to "comply" with safety measures. They put thermometers by the doors for employees who don't want to wear a mask so they can check their temperature before going in. No one ever used them. They are also very picky about your work time if you are not salaried. If you clock out at 4:58, they wont count it as the full work day. The pay is poor too. Point is, if you're looking for a good CS job, don't come here. It will waste your time and lock you down a certain career path you probably don't want.

We’re sorry to hear the role didn’t meet your expectations. It is important to us to clarify the responsibilities within the Junior Automation Developer job description. As a Junior Automation Developer, there is a ramp up to getting an understanding of the platform and creating solutions within it. We work to get individuals experience and practice to demonstrate within the fundamentals of the application before getting into the complexities of various solutions. Within the various complexities lies the computer programming referenced. The balance of tasks within the role varies from week to week. Some weeks individuals are spending more than 50% on a development type task, other weeks it is less than 50%. This is especially true early on, as there is training to be reviewed first. We have individuals demonstrate comprehension and execution in the application and our Software Delivery Life Cycle practices before we can move to the more complex items. As to the work environment of the position, we have provided your feedback to management. We highly encourage collaboration in all forms. Management has recognized that some of the best learning methods and communication strategies are accomplished working onsite. We take pride in investing in our employees’ training and career development. We follow CDC and state/county guidelines and comply with all applicable laws and regulations to ensure that in-office work happens safely.
