Everyone seems incredibly overworked, especially management. This makes it hard (especially for new people) to get good feedback and guidance. I would sometimes turn in copy for review and never hear anything back - or sometimes I would turn in copy and be told the the project scope or goals had changed, and I'd never been told.
Meetings are a real problem at AF. I would spend 75% of every day in meetings, leaving very little time to get any actual work done. Worse, many of the meetings were worthless for my day-to-day work.
I also didn't see any long-term prospects for advancement at AF - very common for small agencies.
