Good colleagues but you will be undervalued. - Associate Director Avison Young Employee Review

Pros

Many of the people have been good to work with and there seemed to be good strength in depth in terms of knowledge and experience from which to learn. The new office is quite nice if that's your sort of thing. Work life balance is good in some of the teams if you want to work from home.

Cons

The biggest negative of AY is how corporate the whole set up is and how vacuous a lot of the messaging from central governance is, this is exacerbated by poor regional and national management. The business has undergone a rapid period of change, particularly since Covid-19. Many department heads have been lost or let go and either people recruited from within or brought in from outside without the necessary experience, client relationships or expertise. In my professional advisory section of the business the leadership and messaging from the company has been poor and mixed. My opinion is that it is also quite cliquey, I would also say that you will not be valued in what you do unless you are cosy with the right people.
