Pros

The office location is a major selling point for the company, providing easy access to transportation and a vibrant neighborhood,

Cons

Working with Avicanna has several downsides based on the provided information: It can stifle your creativity and critical thinking, as they may prefer you to follow strict routines and not engage in innovative thinking. Ego satisfaction and workplace bullying (mobbing) appear to be prevalent issues, which can negatively impact the work environment and team dynamics. Social interaction during lunch breaks seems limited, and there may be a lack of camaraderie among colleagues. The office culture appears to be quiet and has a generally negative energy, which can affect overall morale. The negative reviews from former employees, who had shared their unpleasant experiences, may indicate a less than ideal working environment. Reports of individuals being belittled based on their appearance or clothing choices can create a hostile workplace environment. Petty issues, such as not emptying the coffee machine, could lead to unwarranted reprimands. Even if you perform your job well, you may still be subjected to criticism or negative feedback. These downsides highlight potential challenges and concerns associated with working at Avicanna, which may impact job satisfaction and overall well-being.

Pros

Good hours compared to agency work, very rare to stay past 5pm Work was straightforward, pretty easy overall if you know your stuff not stressful, sometimes a time crunch but nothing compared to agency life

Cons

No support structure or leadership in my role (I was the more senior out of 2 designers, but this wasn't introduced so it was awkward to try to lead) no real opportunity for movement or learnings to advance your career, no variety compared to agency work was told it would be hybrid and easy going situation, when i showed up the first day management made it really awkward and asked me to come in 3 days a week every week, which was more than i was willing to do. this company is still starting out, so they have a lot to figure out. some growing pains and not as easy breezy as most weed companies since they are more in the medical field, the atmosphere is more corporate. compensation a bit lacking, like most design jobs in toronto.
