Pros
Friendly staff with generally a good working environment. Aviagen has a good position in the market thus is a stable company. As it is a global company there are opportunities to travel. It is a well respected company thus a good company to start out in for getting experience in the poultry sector - It is a good company to have on your CV!
Cons
Poor succession planning and opportunities for career progression are not made clear. The hierarchy in the company is structured so that there is a very big gap between management and everyone else - it is not ideal. To make a mark in the company you have to tip work/life balance more towards 'work' - this may not suit certain people. Financially this company do not pay competitively or offer attractive benefits packages - especially relevant when you consider the extra 'out of hours' work you have to do. Two reasons for leaving the company - Future outlook in my position looked very stagnant with no hope of promotion and comparatively I was being paid £10-15k less that similar jobs to mine.
