Pros
On site teams and benefits.
Cons
The NY/Westchester leadership is a disappointment and does not live up to the "cultural norms" and "family" environment this company has promoted for so long. This includes HR, directors, and general managers. The empathetic allyship and initiaves they push are only to check boxes with no real intention of making the necessary connections. I strongly advise associates not to use "radical candor" as anything you say can and will most definitely be used against you. The company as a whole, is only concerned with its corporate citizenship as proven by its politics, ultimatums and termination of associates that were once considered heroes. An audacious move dictated by its majority stockholders under the guise of employee safety which resulted in alienation, toxicity, and low morale. The onsite teams are underpaid and over worked while expected to provide free marketing by pushing 5 star reviews for an average product with classless residents. As with all REITs, every property is ultimately for sale so there really isn't job security on a site level, especially in CT/NY/Westchester. Expect business managers who are selfish overachievers that only care about results and do not like feedback or pushback. Expect retalition disguised as false allegations and wrongful terminations. Expect mixed messaging from yes men/women who are traitorous. Expect disrespect and maltreatment from customers in sometimes unsafe enviroments with no consequences. Do not expect people managers and leaders who put their teams first. Do not expect to work at a luxury site with a clientele that will respect the staff. Do not expect a balanced family/work life as work schedules do not coincide with family needs.
