Pros

1) Market leader for safety components. 2) Plants all over the world, plenty of opportunity for work with large scopes. 3) Opportunity for promotions if you are willing to do a lot of extra work. 4) Good compensation in general as long as you have good supervisors.

Cons

1) Top management responds very strongly to shareholder comments, even when shareholders have no real clue about the realities of manufacturing. 2) Top management is composed of former Volvo executives with a tendency of them coming from controlling / finance functions -- and have limited understanding about component manufacturing. 3) Too much focus on short-term profits, which has led to reducing head-count for skilled experts. Long term prospects are very bad. 4) Little to no investment for new technology / patent growth / preventive quality. 5) Many projects to improve short term income and "quick wins" which forces everyone to cut corners and become involved in projects being led by leaders who lack experience. 6) Too many organization changes which doesn't actually change anything. You still have to contact the same people to actually get things done (at least unofficially... because the official contact has no clue). 7) Many KPI that serve zero purpose. 8) IT improvements which are not understood or embraced by local plants. 9) China is doing very well, but zero Chinese people in top management or in senior positions in the company.
