Pros
It's wonderful to work in an environment in which everyone is highly driven by their devotion to the work. I gained invaluable experience in problem-solving skills, communication (with adults, kids, schools, etc.), and lesson planning. As is with any job that works with kids, the BT role is an incredibly fast-paced one that required me to be able to improvise and think on my feet. While I ultimately felt that this job was not for me, I continually utilize the skills I learned from this job 3-4 years later.
Cons
Be prepared to start sessions with clients with minimal training. Compared to my co-workers, I had half the amount of shadowing time to figure out how to provide quality services. That said, I often felt lost when working solo. Staff and supervisors were helpful, but were spread very thinly (they had many clients to work with) so they might not be able to respond to texts and questions on time.
