The job is a lot harder than you think, especially because of people who think the job is easier than it is. A lot of how the job is done means there's a high chance you'll get injured. Workplace culture is not particularly inclusive, I've received hostility for not being of the property owning class and for being part of the LGBT community in ways that I am not. If you aren't volunteering for EVERY bit of work you possibly can, you will never make a promotion. Highly politicised. People who probably should be fired, never will be because facilities are never fully staffed. Absenteeism is rampant.
