Pros

The location is perfect and the office complex is fairly quiet. Not much traffic from 49th or Ulmerton comes through.

Cons

This is the most dysfunctional company I have ever worked for. Double standards, no work life balance, upper management expects you to be mind readers to accomplish things in a timely and correct manner. What I mean by that is there is very little direction and not much training. The upper management will not take responsibility for anything so having something approved is very difficult. They don't want to be responsible if an issues arises. Upper management will also throw anything and anyone under the bus to save their own paycheck. The company is run mostly by the family. So whatever they say or do goes even if it doesn't for regular employees. The family can make up whatever they want to say and it becomes the truth. Also, I have never worked for a company that requires salaried employees to work a minimum of 45 hours per week. If you work only the 45, upper management will see you as a horrible employee. The want to see you working approx 60 hours per week to see you value your position with them. If you leave before 5 you are the worst person ever and don't deserve to work there. If you're not a favorite you're not valued. If you like to suck up to management to keep your job then this place might be perfect! This company does and will not take care of their employees. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company and any of their affiliates (Big Storm Brewery, Boston Capital Leasing, The Centers for Special Needs Trust, Boston Asset Management, etc)

Pros

I came across a few interesting reviews regarding my company. Toxic people are not allowed to flourish here. That should not be a con. A company should not receive a poor review because negative, unenthusiastic and selfish people want to share their opinion. Those of us that enjoy the company and take on challenges as they come are not hopping on websites sharing extremely subjective and inaccurate data anonymously for the masses. This company allows you to think and create the necessary changes for your department to be efficient. If you are getting paid, you should earn your pay by doing your job. With this company, that does not mean a million hours or settling for the status quo. It simply means people have their own mind and the 'crazy concept' within our organization is as an employee you are required to think. How that is a con is beyond me. It is not a con to be awarded a project. The con is the employee not following through. It is not a con to ask 3 of your 8 work hours are not spent texting or on social media. The audacity of some of you who wrote these reviews. Especially, the individual who decided to use the word 'mafia' based on one of the Executive's being Italian American. It speaks more to who you are and why you are no longer here.

Cons

The time required to identify the negative, entitled and/or lazy people who do not want to think. The time it takes to identify those people who slowly create an unhappy work environment. The time it takes to identify people who want to collect free checks without earning them. The con is recognizing them and giving them additional opportunities as they accept being overpaid and turn down challenges that would help them grow.

Pros

Well there is a twenty word minimum for this section and I can't think of a single pro to working there. You get a discount on Big Storm beer... I guess that's a pro. They have a cake on employees birthdays.

Cons

If you want to be cursed at called names and threatened your job status on a regular basis while going above and beyond and working 50+ hours then this is the place for you! Owners and managers don't even know what's going on in the company, come up with sudden ridiculous financial projects that would normally take at least a month and want it done it 2 days or your job is on the line, and you are always reminded your job is on the line. Don't have any commitments outside of work because they come second to the job. Everyone is afraid of the owner literally and he walks around like the mafia boss man and if he decides he don't like the way you look that day he will fire you on the spot. The environment is toxic and you can feel it when you walk in the room. Just ask for a tour and take a good look around and listen before deciding to gamble with your career by working there. If you're a female over 40 it's even worse. Minimum hours required are 45. They have a 45 hour work week and pay salary. Have to wait a year to participate in 401k. Extremely high turnover with no cross training so employees are expected to figure out the mess left behind from the slew of previous fired employees.
