Athletico as a company has gradually decreased in quality over the several years I have been here. There used to be freedom to treat, schedule and work hours that best fit each clinic, however specifically in Michigan where I work, all individuality amongst clinics is gone thanks to recent changes from management. Clinicians now have set schedules regardless of how it affects their work/life balance and there's constant oversight as to how we book our patients. Taking away our paid half hour of lunch was yet another way poor leadership in Michigan has shown no appreciation for its workers.
Along with these changes, there's been a borderline obsession on increasing our patients seen per week. The basis of receiving our raises were changed (with no communication to us) to no longer take into account our performance reviews from our manager, but strictly on how many patients we see. Ive been working as a clinician for over 15 years and recognize the challenges our field is facing currently, but changing raise parameters without communicating it to us was underhanded and disappointing. To feel like my worth as a therapist isn't tied to the quality of care I bring or how I contribute to my clinic and coworkers, but strictly to the number of patients I see is equally frustrating.
It's disheartening to see these changes in a company i once was proud to work for.
