Pros

Salary package and benefits are great

Cons

Company culture is really negative. 1) Office attendance is individually tracked and is used for determining reward decisions (including bonus) and disciplinary corrective purposes. If you are a people manager, the attendance of your line reports may impact your bonus or result in disciplinary action if you have not actively managed your line reports in line with office attendance expectations. This is applicable only to UK, Sweden and US employees (all other markets do not have these rules!) and it does not matter if you do not have any team to meet face to face in the office. Most of people in Cambridge actually spend their days in the office (where there are not enough meeting rooms or quiet spaces) connected to Virtual calls. 2) There is no transparency. Employees are treated like kids. 3) Hiring process for internal roles is incredibly unprofessional with hiring managers ghosting the candidates and starting the hiring process before being sure what they were actually looking for.

Pros

I imagine this is very dependent on line management but I find my team and supervisors to be true champions of a high performing and highly compassionate work culture. I find my work challenging and rewarding, and have had opportunities to learn and grow and be rewarded and recognized for my output. No job is perfect but I’m truly happy to work here and at a time when AZ is truly rising like a rocket.

Cons

Like any massive global corporate entity, things can sometimes move slowly and it can be challenging to navigate a high number of constantly evolving priorities and initiatives. That being said, AZ is very clear about its north stars and values which makes it possible to prioritize work that has the most impact and alignment with the company’s ambition and business prerogatives. 60% office attendance policy is also a bit funny when oftentimes I am on Teams calls with colleagues sitting in other areas of the world.
