Poor pay but rewarding job - Lecturer Askham Bryan College Employee Review

Staff on campus was nice

HR and management have no sense of urgency taking around 4 months for recruitment and heavily delaying starting dates, never disclosing shifts information despite mentioning they had all dates set in stone. Misleading descriptions of job advert. Stated zero hours casual part time role however only give you shift information when is time to sign the contract. After enquiring about this they claimed the role was always advertised as 6 hours per month, however this information is not found neither in the job advert, offer nor contract. During the long onboarding process they took weeks to answer emails and up to a month of radio silence. No benefits nor travel reimbursement despite very short shifts.

None comes to mind regarding this college

The entire college is more focused on earning money rather than providing a quality education. Teachers are overworked and underpaid, with ever increasing standards. Forces unreasonable requirements on staff. (Working two jobs for a single salary)
