Pros

In the frontline of mobile telephony technology, mainly in Radio Access Network area. Global presence. Some really nice and skilled people.

Cons

Work/life balance non-existing: You're supposed to work or be available at all time - otherwise you're regarded a low performer. Top management lacks knowledge of own org. They are busy trying to meet budget numbers or finding excuses explaining bad performance. Long term goals and investments completely lacking. It's all about meeting budget - half year and full year. Shipping unfinished bad quality products to customers in order to send invoices out is more important than long term customer satisfaction and relationship. "Ship and invoice before year end. Don't bother if customers are disappointed and returns products and get refund beginning of next year." Lack of priority and red line in business. Everything is of highest importance as long as there is a slight possibility to get some orders. Lots of internal politics and people trying to sneak under the radar. As long as your own part of the org is not scrutinized by the management team you're ok. Recurring cost reductions and layoffs.

Pros

There are plenty of talented individuals with extensive experience in the marketplace within the Ascom Network Testing division. Many of the individuals will go beyond respective responsibility in order to support business activities and the TEMS brand name has a highly reputable reputation around the world.

Cons

There is almost no collaboration between the three geographical regions on individual contributor level and very little, if any, support by the executive management related to share experience between regions, which leads to the various operational organizations can be compared with silos on many levels. Some managers will do almost anything to meet their own shortsighted goal(s) prior to supporting the staff.
