Pros

Good company overall culture, company has a good image in the industry. Opportunities for large and iconic projects once in a while. Health insurance is good but starting to decline. Lots of smart people in the company to work with.

Cons

Too much politics, senior staff with a UK background seem to get advanced and promoted quicker. Salary is below average in the local job market. Office higher management seem to find every possible excuse to hold off promotions to staff to keep their grade and cost low. Unpaid overtime is an unspoken expectation. Foreign employees get lower salaries on average. Good company overall culture but down to office level it does not seem to be maintained. Office leadership seems to try to hold an upper hand to its staff and take as much advantage of its staff as possible.

Pros

Working at Arup was a great experience, surrounded by smart, motivated, and mission-driven peers.

Cons

This may have since improved, but at least previously, the America's region felt rather second-class compared to UK. Most/all senior leadership, even in the US, was British.

Pros

great supervisor, lots of professional development opportunities

Cons

insane workload and expect you to be available for work 24/7. some teams are drowning and others have no resourcing. layoffs happen completely randomly and they lay off people who are 100 percent billable. profit share is bs and you get nothing as a junior member
