Pros
Access to education, campus events and campus facilities, great benefits, opportunities for growth, diversity of job options, contact with students, implicit value of all kinds of learning including the arts. I work an administrative job and get to teach one class, which is nice.
Cons
Red tape! But that's probably the situation at most large universities. I love what I do, but my salary is woefully tiny. But my exact position is basically non-existent in the private sector, so I am grateful for it. The large campus can be difficult to navigate professionally.
