Pros

Although very extreme and excessive, the sales training was useful

Cons

I had a lot of doubts about this company from all the reviews that I read on Glassdoor, prior to my interview. Foolishly I believed what I heard from all the changes made that they did to improve the toxic culture at the company. After only a weeks with Arena International, I started job hunting and going to interviews. Being in tough, hard selling environment was one thing. The major red flags for me were the backstabbing in the sales team and I was very disappointed that did not receive any support from my manager when I had a family tragedy, during my time there.

Pros

Comms is okay. Not much else.

Cons

Imagine Mean Girls, but with adults. One main toxic, bullying clique. You'll never fit into the clique, so you may as well quit.

Pros

Nothing at all… except travelling if they have budget

Cons

The company’s culture is marked by internal politics, favoritism, and unprofessional behavior — including inappropriate and discriminatory remarks that go unchecked. There is a clear lack of structure and resources; even essential work-related expenses, such as travel for events, are STRUGGLED to be covered . Strategic planning is minimal, with agendas created without proper research or purpose. Despite being branded as an events organization, the focus is overwhelmingly sales-driven and no regard for the production team who have numerous fought for the rights to content and speakers. Compensation for wages is far below industry standards — leading to high staff turnover. There has been over seven people who have left within the last five months. Leadership is a serious joke particularly within one department, demonstrates poor management and excessive micromanagement, creating a toxic environment where employees feel constant pressure and burnout. Marketing and Operations were the only senior management that actually made things work and tried their best create events unlike Sales. My department has nearly collapsed within just three months due to these issues and I don’t think they’re going to hire anyone with talent to replace the 4 people that left. Many employees, including myself, experienced ongoing disrespect and unfair treatment that bordered on constructive dismissal. The only positive aspect was the small number of colleagues who genuinely cared about delivering quality events — their professionalism and dedication were the few redeeming elements of my time there.
