Pros

For the most part, support staff is great to work with. Executive Director is fair and understanding. Casual Fridays. Employee "appreciation" days with food provided by already overworked kitchen staff.

Cons

There was no pleasing anyone in management. Always being threatened to be written up for one reason or another. Many people who worked there had bad attitudes because lack of support and direction from management. Lack of team work between co-workers. Management would not address employee mistakes in timely manner with constructive criticism but would wait until evaluations or disciplinary write-ups. Open interpretation of vague employee policies.

Pros

I've worked in healthcare for a while, and Arden Courts has been one of the most rewarding places I've worked. Memory care is definitely challenging at times, but it's also incredibly fulfilling to build relationships with residents and their families and see the impact you can make every day. One thing I really appreciate is that the work environment feels much more manageable than skilled nursing. It allows staff to spend more quality time with residents and focus on what really matters. The residents become like family, and the team genuinely cares about them. The company is also smaller than many large healthcare organizations, which I see as a positive. There is a clear structure, expectations are straightforward, and you don't feel like just another number. Leadership is accessible, and there is support when you need it. The benefits are excellent, and there are opportunities to learn and grow within the company. No workplace is perfect, but overall Arden Courts has been a great place to work, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in memory care.

Cons

Low tuition reimbursement, but they do have some!
