The Aquarius, Ltd. management team appreciates the feedback provided by our employee, as well as the opportunity to respond.
Business practices -
• Our business practices are sound, and our open-door policy encourages employees with any concerns to bring them to our attention right away.
Management Style -
• Our management style is designed to foster a level of independence that allows employees to thrive, but as with any business, oversight and collaboration with management will always be an important part of our business model.
Business Health –
• Aquarius, Ltd. has been a valued and reputable member of the Saint Louis business community for over 50 years. We have provided hundreds of people with reliable, consistent full-time employment over the decades and look forward to continuing that proud tradition for many decades to come.
Work Environment –
• We are excited about our growth and just purchased a larger, brighter facility, with plenty of natural light, that is sure to inspire all our employees.
Employee Population –
• Our employees range in age from their 20’s to 70’s. We value the experience and new ideas from all of them. Historical knowledge from longer term, seasoned employees is as valuable to us as fresh new ideas from our younger employees.
• Employee turnover is low. We proudly celebrate the dedicated service and hard work of all our employees – those just hired to those with nearly 40 years of service.
• A third of our staff have worked at Aquarius for 20 years or more and we couldn’t be more proud of that fact.
• Aquarius, Ltd. never discriminates based on age. We hire the best, most qualified person for the job, regardless of age.
Work Processes –
Change management is a long-term process. Aligning three companies to be more streamlined and cross-functional does not happen overnight. To do it correctly, it takes time.
Co-Worker Concerns –
• If an employee has an issue with a co-worker, we ask them to bring their concerns to their supervisor or Human Resources for conflict resolution.
Sales Teams –
• We are in business to do business and our sales teams are the business drivers, so we will always support them.
Workload –
• The workload is challenging but reasonable for those that are hardworking.
• We expect employees to carry their share of the load and work a full and productive 40 hours per week.
• Anyone with down time is encouraged to raise their hand, notify their manager, and offer to help a co-worker or fellow department in need.
Work From Home –
• During the pandemic we offered work from home schedules, per CDC guidelines, to keep everyone safe. As the CDC relaxed its guidelines, we returned to our previous onsite schedule, while maintaining a regular work from home option for most departments.
Time off –
• Paid time off is a benefit we are happy to provide. Individual requests are reviewed and approved by department heads and typically always approved unless in conflict with another employee’s request or for business reasons. Denials are infrequent.
Morale / Culture –
• We agree that we have many talented people working at Aquarius, Ltd. and appreciate each one for their contributions to our business. We want every employee to feel fulfilled professionally. Saint Louis is a vibrant, growing economic center and there are plenty of opportunities for talented people. Many employees have chosen to move on to other opportunities, then chosen to come back to Aquarius, Ltd. because of the teams, camaraderie, environment, and opportunities here.
Job Satisfaction –
• Our employees are not just doing a job. They are hard-working people that put in their 40 hours, and often more, contributing to a team dedicated to growing and supporting each other, while also building our business.
• We suggest to any employee that is unhappy – do something about it. Talk to management to find a way to maximize your potential and sense of fulfillment.
