Pros
Take it from me, someone who's been here a while. Things are fine, despite the negative reviews. Yeah, the pie might be shrinking, but that just means I've got more real estate (heh) to claim. To all those who just lost their jobs: you deserved this. Apto was too big. Now we're really moving towards what Goldilocks would call "just right."
We have a ways to go to profitability, but we're continuing to reduce costs every week with all the follow-on quitters who weren't cool enough to get laid off like the rest of them. Good riddance. As we continue to fire bad customers, we don't need as many customer support reps anyway. Plus, our new engineering team in St. Petersburg is way better than the old one. They do what they're told, unlike the old divas who had the nerve to question the company strategy.
You say insubordination, we say out-of-the-organization. That's just how things should be, because we're all adults here. Besides, constant fear and anxiety really shows who's up to the task.
Cons
It's like no one understands that these things are NORMAL in a startup. The constant fear and anxiety (which should be a force for good) seems to make everyone into a paranoid weirdo. At lunch, people are always gossiping about "who's going to quit next" when they should be framing it like "who do we need to eliminate next?" It's sad how many people are losing focus on this exciting journey to burn rate zero. Be grateful for this opportunity!
