Project Engineer - Project Engineer Applus+ IDIADA Employee Review

Pros

Some excitement/thrill from live high speed crash testing everyday. This review is specific to the USA Adelanto Karco Engineering branch. If you're into automotive testing, you get a lot of first hand experience of the industry and NCAP. MASH or highway safety is the other department of testing conducted here. You will get to be very hands on with scheduling and seeing the testing from start to finish.

Cons

Small workforce is understaffed on different levels and as such are close to having a problem (missed employee or equipment) to cause delays. Needs to figure out the balance of workforce and profit to run smoothly. There are even more tests conducted than I listed, but the wider specialization needs more personnel so the smaller projects are neglected in the end. Year round testing means there's plenty of work so year(s) is needed to occur more PTO. No 401k. If you commit to living out in the desert the commute is short, if not your commute starts to add up.

Pros

Not much to say really

Cons

DO NOT WORK HERE. Terrible Environment, No Career Growth. I was told by a Spanish guy from there headquarters on my first day at this place “You have to do More”-absolutely BULLYING work environment. Unclear company travel and hotel policies (never told by them in any shape or form) and blame employees for the costs. The HR and finance departments suck as everyone knows they took all the end of year bonuses and even took away a $300 New Year First Prize Present from an employee so that they could share it amongst themselves. You will not find anyone in the homologation department above 25 years old. The pay is absolutely terrible, and what’s more you learn nothing from the role except just “negotiating” (arguing) with the stakeholders.
