Pros
Applied feels as much like family as a place of employment. There is a culture of good work ethics here that I don't see at other similar organizations. The dress code is relaxed and some teams have relatively flexible hours (starting/ending times) to accommodate personal needs like taking children to/from daycare or school. Applied has many locations around the United States, as well as Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland. Employees have been able to remain at Applied while moving between offices; in most cases they did not have to change positions while doing so. Applied is truly the best in their industry, which is providing software and services to insurance agencies in the US, UK, Ireland and Canada. It's nice to work for a growing company with strong sales that is in a good financial position, instead of worrying about being downsized out of a job.
Cons
Applied's University Park office is not located in the tech corridors of downtown Chicago or western suburbs, but the reverse commute down I-57 is more of a pro than con.
