Pros
They're somewhat smart with their scam tactics!
Cons
> The real company isn't in operation anymore it seems from Google searches. > The scammers only slipped up twice prior to their scam attempt, once with a typo in the "you have an interview" text and their fake Microsoft Teams account has no profile photo. > They will have a "mock interview" over Microsoft Teams with you the day you receive a text from them. They will then set up a proper interview time sometimes as soon as the next morning for you only for it to be the same over text interview. Ten minutes in they'll tell you you're hired without paperwork or needing to sign. > They will then tell you how they will email a check to you for you to print out and cash. Then they'll give you a list of the most expensive equipment on the market for "the job" after not even asking you what your own specs are, etc. > Their facade starts to slip once you combat their request and ask why there isn't direct deposit, why they don't just ship it out, etc etc. TLDR: They're a scam, if you got as far as the check stage, consider printing the check and turning it into the police or contact your local general attorney for fraud/scams.
