Pros

I love working here. The environment is energetic, the people are supportive and it's honestly the best job I've had in years. I always feel comfortable asking questions and asking for coaching so that I can improve. I've grown as a salesperson by 10x in my 10 weeks here. The training program is second to none and although I plan on staying with Angi for a long time, I know I'm well prepared for any sales job moving forward. I have the best manager and their extended training after the inital few weeks is so helpful! Sales cycle is very short which is great for payout.

Cons

Base pay is low. I live in an expensive area so if I don't sell much, I start to get worried. My last sales job was 5 figures more in base pay but I do make much more in commission here. I'd appreciate a livable wage for my base at least until I get comfortable and start routinely bringing in sales. They hire a lot of people at once. A lot of new hires won't make it past 90 days which is understandable to an extent. Would be nice for those of us who are doing well in our first days out of training to have better leads. They also recently reduced commissions on the front end but increased on the retention which is not ideal but also understandable to an extent.

Thanks for the review and you bring up a lot of valid points. Our base is lower than some of our competitors, but we have a very competitive OTE with top sales folks making close to $400,000. A higher base can alleviate stress during tough sales periods and it can help us market talent, which are two huge considerations. The reasons we have a lower base though is so we can invest more heavily into our compensation plan and provide more overall compensation to those that are hitting their goals and creating value for our pros and Angi. Very fair points and it's something we talk through pretty regularly. - Tom Cheatham, Sr. VP Sales

Pros

The culture is generally positive, and leadership is accessible. Management is willing to meet with employees and listen to concerns. There are talented people throughout the organization, and the work can be rewarding if you enjoy sales and helping businesses grow.

Cons

The biggest challenge is the compensation structure. The company promotes uncapped commissions, but many employees feel earnings are effectively controlled through continually increasing quotas and changing performance targets. Revenue and nominal goals are adjusted so frequently that it can feel like the finish line is always moving. What's particularly frustrating is that the majority of the sales team often struggles to reach 100% of quota, yet goals continue to rise. This creates the perception that compensation expense is being managed through quota increases rather than by allowing top performers to fully benefit from the revenue they generate. Over time, this can discourage high achievers. Employees who consistently perform well are often expected to deliver significantly more results each year just to maintain the same level of compensation. When exceptional performance is met with ever-increasing targets instead of proportionally increasing rewards, motivation suffers.
