Pros
They listen. They don’t act on helpful feedback, but they will listen. The firm is made up of a few great leaders and a number of great humans. Good place to start a career, but not a great career home for most professionals. Not the worst hours in public accounting.
Cons
Things I will ALWAYS remember about Andersen: - A lot of their top performers make the least amount of money on their teams and are definitely below market. - Leadership begs for loyalty, but fails to reciprocate often. - They want you to ask for the resources you need, but they’re often too cheap to provide them and/or it is too difficult to get approval…mostly because they lack processes. - If you’re interested in making an impact expect a lot of red tape. - I know partners that prepare their own returns. - A lot of politics and favoritism.
