Pros

Anchorage Museum is a museum to be proud of. It is an important cultural center in Anchorage and stands alongside internationally known museums. Can walk through galleries on lunch break. Garage has limited capacity but if you get a (paid) spot, it is heated and secure. Free health insurance for singles. 10% retirement contribution by employer (not a match). Many employees that choose to work there are incredibly creative and interesting people. As an employee you find out about all the amazing events that colleagues are planning, and can attend if you don’t mind spending free time at work If you like stirring change, don’t need credit for your work, and have a plan B for income, this could be a great place for you. Needs more movers and shakers to confront toxic leadership.

Cons

leadership is toxic and promotes a toxic work environment. HR does not advocate for employees, just perpetuates toxic environment. Many employees are drastically underpaid for no clear reason. I felt under appreciated, even regardless of pay, and many of my colleagues did too. I loved my job but it felt like an abusive relationship
