Pros

Awesome technology, clear winner in the EPM space. Management is great at creating a strong feeling of "team," amongst the employees. We are able to do this by beating down the workforce with little opportunity for advancement, and minimal to no support. This helps create strong bonds between employees, while saving large amounts of money so we can pay upper management as much as possible. Additionally, the company culture is spectacular here, with lots of emphasis on the culture. Anaplan has a great company culture, everyone knows that. The culture is clear, and we focus on culture.

Cons

Greedy employees constantly criticizing upper management's decision making. They constantly disrupt and pester management with requests like "please pay us more, because we are working the equivalent of two jobs." Guess what? That's how salary works, if you don't like it, dust off your resume. Anaplan isn't a charity for the masses, it's a funnel for a few people at the output. Employees need to understand this and stop requesting additional compensation that matches the amount of work they do. Working long hours? Just work faster, that's on you. Those same selfish employees are constantly asking "What is the company culture?" If you have to ask, then you clearly don't get it. Regardless I clearly laid out the culture in the "Pros" section.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
