Pros

Ampifire does offer steady work and offers opportunities to move up and earn bonuses. Most editors are supportive with a few exceptions will help you if you need it.

Cons

Ampifire pays $15 USD per simple press release and $30 USD for more complex ones. While this seems like a decent wage, once you realize their clients pay upwards of $500 USD per press release, offering writers $15-30 USD per assignment really isn’t fair. The wage also isn’t enough to life on if you live in North America or Western Europe, but is decent if you live somewhere else. Certain editors are also incredibly abusive with their feedback and will threaten to fire you for simple grammar mistakes. I had genuine panic attacks thinking about getting feedback from certain editors and was paranoid about getting fired.

Thanks for your honest review and sorry you had a bad experience with an editor. I wish you well in your new endeavor. Most writers do a full multimedia AMP in under an hour. For that we pay US$30 or higher depending on the exact gig as there are other add on bonuses that apply to many of those (some pay US$35 or $40 or $45 each and sometimes higher). We don't sell single article writing for $500, so that is a misunderstanding. Our distribution alone can be that cost, while writing is charged at an additional lower rate, and high volume clients pay less, so there is a misunderstanding there. There's also other editorial costs, distribution costs, technology, operational and management costs etc. which we have as part of our process to deliver a campaign. We appreciate getting feedback on your work can sometimes be stressful, but we have to maintain quality for clients. If you have had a bad experience with an editor please let our CEO know so we can look into that, as nothing was reported about this incident. Obviously producing work that is continually sub-par compared to other writers on our team may mean someone is not a fit and would be let go, but nobody should be making threats to you for simple grammar mistakes. Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Pros

Former contractor here. Some of the editors were friendly and helpful, and I give the company 1 star solely because of them.

Cons

Other editors were not friendly and helpful, to say the least. They lied about (unpaid) revisions, saying they hadn’t been made when they had; exaggerated small errors, making them seem worse than they were; said errors were made that weren’t really errors; and imposed arbitrary restrictions. These editors were rude, immature, vicious, and profoundly dishonest. They are some of the worst people I have ever had the misfortune to be acquainted with. To aspiring employees, I say: Don't bother.
