Compensation is not competitive: From former Amgen colleagues that they said they got 10+% increase on base pay when moving to other companies for same level position.
The salary can only support you "ok" living condition in bay area, and it is hard for household of two with single income in this area.
Base pay increment every year is below 3% even if you get good performance review: Worked hard and overtime to get the "exceed expectation" review, but only receive 0.4% more increase (2.9% in total) than regular increment (~2.5%) every year.
Next generational office: Everyone needs to fight for a desk. Don't have assigned seat even for non-lab based workers (using computer 100% of time for daily works). This is totally opposite to the idea of ergonomics unless you spend time every day to adjust chairs, desk height, monitor angle, height, set up personal keyboard and mouse.
This is a place to get big biotech experience, but your salary will not grow and won't catch up the inflation. Better to move to other companies after 3 years to catch up inflation.
