Pros

Remote work is encouraged, which was great! Most people are super nice (just not in IT). Loved my boss, pay was decent, although raises didn't keep up with inflation. The company is small enough where I felt I was really making a difference.

Cons

IT is the worst. They're disagreeable and snarky. Every time I opened a ticket, I knew there was a rude lecture on its way. I am so glad I don't have to worry about dealing with the divas in that dpt anymore. Pay doesn't increase with inflation (although contract pricing does). The tools the company uses are cheap and not industry standard. They tell customers to get the latest and greatest, while they use excel based project management.

Pros

American Software is a fabulous company to work for. It has an excellent executive and operational leadership team. The company culture and values are of the highest character. It's products and services are market leading and it's commitment to its customers and employees is first rate.

Cons

Having worked for the company for over 20 years, where we have weaknesses our leadership is focused and dedicated to correct, so I would say that any past cons are being rapidly and aggressively corrected. This is a great place to be and grow.

Pros

In my role; the work is challenging but it is rewarding. There are several opportunities to streamline and get more efficient. Not every suggestion is implemented but the management team takes constructive and proactive suggestions under advisement and are open to change to increase efficiency and process improvement. I like that we are continuing to get better, that we leverage the in house resources that what we have, and that we attempt to be nimble like a start up company, although we have the years of proven experience of a fortune 500 company.

Cons

The areas of opportunity that I see are in the areas of centralized resources as well as a chance to get better at dissemination of information and changes from the top down. There is a tiny HR group and it's difficult to get to the right information when you need it as an employee. Lastly, than the top players, we have no way of knowing who anyone is, what they do, or how to contact them, other than via word of mouth.
