Pros
Improves personal communication skills through brute force.
Cons
I was a supervising agent for more than a few months. AIL is a meat grinder for new agents. Most people are completely unprepared for paying all their expenses before they make a buck, if they make a buck. I have no idea how many people that came through out doors for interviews, the ones who got 'accepted' are the only ones willing to say yes. about 90% interviewees said no, 10% said yes, 50% of that 10 actually followed through an actually paid for their state license. If you've never been in sales before and are on a budget, don't do it. On the other hand if you want to break into sales after you get a professional degree, go for it, but not too long to drink the kool aid. Now, I will not completely bash the company, it has decent products, and if your a natural born salesperson and real go getter, you can actually do quiet ok here.
