Staff is hardworking, kind, and committed. My colleagues have all been welcoming, communicative, and a delight to work with. Much of the staff stay for a long time - median tenure is quite high, which shows how true to the mission they are.

Like many nonprofits, projects are plentiful. However, there are many accessible resources, as organization is very attentive to work-life balance.

Talented and dedciated individuals within its programs. However, there is minimal tangible impact on actual animal support, and coworker relationships often stem from shared experiences of adversity and trauma,

Working at American Humane has damaged the lives and minds of so many amazing, dedicated individuals. This environment not only demoralizes but also damages the mental health of the staff. Employees face constant manipulation, abuse, and extreme pressure that pushes them to their limits. Despite many joining with the intention to advocate for animal welfare, the true mission is overshadowed by the CEO's fragile ego-centric agenda and her obsession with appearing to be a "celebrity," detracting from the organization's core objectives and the well-being of its team. I generally do not write reviews, but if this saves even one person from experiencing the trauma of working at American Humane, then it is absoutely worthwhile.
