Pros

Intern perks, like swag (pens, notebooks, copies of their Journal - which I was able to use for academic papers!), access to high profile speakers when assisting with speaker events, and overall good facetime with internal figures as well as your own team. Stipend was included, and even an add-on for when us interns had to work a later shift for a key event. We also got to go on an organized trip to a nearby foreign embassy to learn more about the country and their ongoings. I was able to use references here that later landed me my first actual full-time job!

Cons

Duties depend on your team, which is true for most organizations like these. I personally had to do some tedious physical cataloguing of the Journal, but nothing out of the ordinary. Had a great experience otherwise! Just make the most of your time here.

Pros

It was a small and easygoing office, everyone that worked there was very knowledgeable about the Foreign Service and offered help whenever I asked for it.

Cons

Sometimes I would be twiddling my thumbs because there was not much to do. I would advise any future interns to actively come out with projects to pitch to your supervisor, otherwise they will run out of things for you to do pretty quickly.
