Pros

The most variety of Loan options to sell in the industry Marketing is creative and helpful with design only Excellent coaching from Tony Casillas, Jony Fowler, etc Outstanding branch manager conferences with industry leading professionals and vendors. Growth ideas here are fantastic; you reach back out to the corporate to actually help you and receive crickets or a referral to the vendor when what you need is HELP implementing it or money to implement it; marketing is expensive and they expect you to foot the entire bill. If you are wanting to be a LO or processor in the industry, they will train you giving you a well rounded education of all things in lending. Processing support is outstanding only if you scream for the best. Outstanding tech support Outstanding Closing Department and Managers Outstanding front desk staff if you happen to go to corporate in person Overall, everyone is nice, polite and respectful.

Cons

Marketing won't help you with ideas on how to generate actual leads, or differing types of marketing programs that actually work. They have a TON OF HIGH PRODUCERS they flout every month, but they DO NOT SHARE what those people are ACTUALLY doing for marketing. Its the usual sales propaganda they push: personal & social networks, video marketing that doesn't work, knock on doors of companies who don't want to see you (aside from realtors, you are encouraged to seek out financial planners, attorneys, etc,); referrals from friends and former clients, blah, blah... Health benefits are not so great including dental; HR finds the LEAST expensive options and shoves it as if its the best thing ever. They use your branch as a gateway for the corporate/national company to make money off you and never share any of the profits with you. I'm speaking about the margin they receive from wholesale pre-loan closing and post secondary market sales, meanwhile running all your state licensed employees through your branch NMLS and not sharing any of the closing profits with you as an over-ride. They company is modeled after McDonalds since you run your own branch profit and loss and also much like an MLM: their "regional" or "district" managers that "recruit" you to be a branch manager, then disappear when you need any actual support on a specific loan; the regional is focused on recruiting only to create more branches they can receive a loan override on. If a loan has issues, forget getting any help from your regional or recruitment branch manager, they refer you to their in-house branch relations team, or your processor; if you have a great processor things will be resolved; if you are stuck with a processor who is great but overwhelmed, you and your client are the losers. There is zero growth opportunity with corporate: you will ALWAYS be a loan officer or branch manager because if you start recruiting in another regional managers area then major conflicts will arise. If you are a LO that was recruited by a hands off regional manager and want to switch to a branch outside of their region, you will have to quit or be fired before you can come back on board. Its absolutely mind blowing how territorial these greedy RM's are as they will fight you, call you and leave nasty text messages or on your vm, It's a total turn off. They claim to be a large company that works like a small company but in actuality they are just a giant MLM and who also hire their relatives for corporate positions, especially in HR and promote them over actually recruiting qualified people for the job.
