      - Career opportunities world-wide - At least trying to meet the average salary in the market - Many employees staying 5-30 years with the company - Trying to provide "work-life-balance" environment for the employees - For a company with over 150 years of history, tens of thousand employees globally, executives and senior leadership try to keep the company young in terms of culture, etc.

      Cons

      - Few opportunities beyond director level - In-fighting and politics, as much as expected for a large, global company - Salary and benefits are not very competitive while meeting the market average

      Pros

      They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

      Cons

      The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
